We have had many fantastic reviews, here are just a few we are proud of...

"The hotel was easy to find, within easy walking distance of the centre of Harrogate. The welcome was friendly and information was given about local amenities and attractions. The hotel was very clean and breakfasts were good."

Beverly

"Liked the little extras provided - cotton buds, cotton wool balls and room spray in the bathroom. Mugs, not silly little cups and plenty of milk. Breakfast cooked to order and no cueing for a toast machine!! Friendly and obliging."

Christine

"Very close to Harrogate shopping centre and plenty of restaurants to chose from for your evening meal. Very good choice for breakfast in guesthouse our host was very informative of area."

Stephen

"Our stay at Alexa House was very friendly and relaxed. The breakfast selection was quite extensive with something to suit all tastes. Sandra was very friendly and helpful with directions to all the local attractions. We like the more personal touches of the not so large establishments and Alexa House fitted this really well."

Robert

"A lovely, clean and well presented guest house. Very friendly and helpful Landlady who is well versed in local amenities etc. Lovely and quiet and great location for access to town."

Ian

"Our stay felt like we were home from home, we were made to feel very welcome. On arrival we got given a map of Harrogate and the lady noted on it the places we asked her directions to, only a 5 min walk from centre. We found this a lot more comfortable and enjoyable than a hotel. We liked that the guesthouse was like a home, and not uniformed and clinical. It was very clean, lovely couple who ran it, breakfast delicious, and room cosy. Would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family."

Peter

"We chose this hotel because if its location. It is only a 5-10min walk from our concert venue and it also had free parking. When we arrived we found we were staying in one of the annexe rooms, which was separate from the main building. This was ideal for us as we didn't need to worry about disturbing other guests if we came back later after the concert."

Angela

"I stayed here with two of my friends on a weekend visit to the Harrogate Wedding Show. Alexa House was situated perfectly, not even five minutes from the town centre. Our room was clean and the bathroom spacious, not to mention perfect as it slept all three of us properly without a sofa bed in sight! Sandra, the host was very welcoming and breakfast the next morning was delicious with a brilliant selection of fruit, juice and cereal. We did however have the english breakfast which was lovely! I would definitely recommend Alexa House and would stay there again when we revisit Harrogate, except this time we will test out Sandra's recommendations for restaurants and cupcakes."

Betty

"I have just had the pleasure of working in North Yorkshire for a few months, and I was based in Harrogate at The Alexa House. Sandra is the perfect hostess, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean, and tidy with Freeview TV and free Wi-Fi. Car parking is secure round the back of the hotel. Breakfast is great, and served with a smile!! North Yorkshire is a beautiful county, especially The Dales, and I would definitely recommend visiting. Make Alexa House your base, and you won't be disappointed!"

Martin

"We stayed one night, the room was really nicely decorated, clean and spacious. We had a few drinks from the bar, sat in the garden and enjoyed the evening. The host was very welcoming, breakfast was superb, and in all we would definitely recommend Alexa House."

Vik

"On arrival we received a very warm welcome from Sandra who advised on breakfast times and the honesty bar. The guesthouse itself is located in a brilliant location and a gentle 10 minute stroll takes you to the heart of Harrogate (just turn left out of the front gate and not right like we did!). We enjoyed just one night at the hotel and our bedroom was very clean and tidy with a comfortable bed. The ensuite was again spotless and the shower worked perfectly. Breakfast was superb - no complaints at all. On the whole we enjoyed our short stay and would definitely recommend Alexa House."

Joanna and Paul

"We had a wonderful stay at Alexa, when we arrived Sandra introduced herself and asked if we had been to Harrogate before and as we hadn't she gave us a map and directions advise about what to see and where to eat that was very helpful . The room was light and airy with a very comfortable bed , I do not normally sleep well when away from home and was out for the count ( could have been a combination of lots of walking and good food ! ). Breakfast was good a full selection of cereal and fruit followed by a cooked breakfast I had the kippers and would recommend.
Free car park and a stroll in to the town very convenient location.
Thank you for a lovely stay we will be back next time we come to Harrogate."

Molly

"I stayed at this guesthouse for four nights while working at the Harrogate Nursery Fair. I had a single en suite bedroom. It was small but well designed and furnished to a better standard than most three or four-star hotels. The whole house was clean and well presented throughout. There was a good choice of cold and cooked items for breakfast - sourced locally. I even had a kipper for breakfast one day. There is parking at the back of the hotel. I would recommend this to any one visiting Harrogate who would like to stay in a guesthouse run to the best standards."

Mark

"My boyfriend and I stayed at Alexa house for two nights over new year. We stayed in Room 1 which was lovely, very clean and cosy. Sandra was very friendly and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The breakfasts were very nice and the location was ideal for the town centre and the train station. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly visit Alexa house again."

Sophie

"We stayed in a cabin in a block at the back of the hotel. I was concerned it would be cold as it was minus 2 outside, but it was very warm and cosy. Fabulous hot power shower and tea/coffee with biscuits in the room. Well furnished and clean. Lovely breakfast in the main house. Very convenient for the centre of Harrogate. Would stay there again."

Pixie

"I have stayed at Alexa House many times over the past 6 years and have always had a great experience, Sandra is very welcoming and always goes out of her way to help. Rooms are clean, nicely furnished, comfortable Beds and warm. Breakfasts are always great, lots of choice and very tasty. And it even has a Car Park.
I always look forward to staying there, see you all again Soon."

Dave

"Me and my husband stayed with Sandra for a week, we had such a lovely warm welcome, Sandra goes out of her way to help her guests, nothing was ever to much for her. This accommodation is very convenient to the local town centre about a 5 min walk to pubs, shops, restaurants e.t.c room was to a very high standard, immaculate! breakfast was amazing, everything about the stay was lovely, would definitely go there again. Thanks Sandra for your hospitality and your kindness, your guest house is fab!! see you soon hopefully."

Sadie

"Excellent in all aspects of our stay. The hotel itself is easy to find and within walking distance to most attractions in Harrogate. The Location is very central but still quiet and private. Staff are very friendly and helpful. In the Lobby you can find a lot of useful information for activities as well as restaurant menus. Rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious.

The breakfast alone is worth staying there."

Klaus

"I have been a regular staying guest at Alexa House since February and what a delight it has been. I have slept in almost every room on offer and have never been disappointed (room 9 is my personal favourite). Sandra is a wonderful host who has a world of local knowledge and will go the extra mile to ensure your stay is a pleasant one and is always on hand if help is needed. All rooms have a great selection of beverages and a lovely pack of biscuits as a added bonus. The bathrooms have excellent large fluffy towels and a good range of toiletries. The beds are comfy and you get a good nights sleep. Free Wi-Fi and parking is also an added bonus and for those that don’t have a laptop there is a PC in the front room should you need it. I have never eaten from the hotel as my shift work starts from 05:30 but I can assure you all food is fresh and purchased locally as I have stopped and chatted to Sandra many times when she is returning from the local butchers. The location of the hotel is great as the town centre is only a 5 minute walk. I cant recommend this hotel enough and I have stayed at other hotels around Harrogate The crown and Holiday inn to name a few."

James

"My husband and I recently stayed for two nights at Alexa B&B. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, comfortable, high quality toiletries and excellent breakfast. Whilst our room wasn't big, it had everything we needed. Our room was in the main building which i think is preferable.

Location is just 10 minutes walking distance to conference centre and the town. Betty's tea rooms is 15 minutes away.

For us Alexa House was 'a gem' of a find and made our brief visit to Harrogate even more enjoyable."

Susie

"Comfy beds, nice room, spotlessly clean, lovely products in the bathroom and a fantastic breakfast made with local produce. We stayed for three nights and would happily have stayed longer! There's a sitting room where you can relax in the evening and make good use of the honesty bar. The owners are friendly and fun and know the local area well if you need any recommendations for eating out or places to see. We would go back for sure."

Helen

"We arrived to a really warm, friendly welcome on a snowy day. The room was ideal, very clean and comfortable. It was a short walk into town, up hill on the way back but we managed with all our shopping! Nice breakfast next morning. The owners were very chatty and passed on local knowledge which was helpful. We will certainly return!"

Jasper

"Manicured gardens, well stocked honesty bar, helpful and friendly owners, immaculate rooms. Walking distance to town centre. I had a room with a memory foam bed which was really comfortable. Great to have breakfast like big hotel, top quality cereals, fresh fruit, the usual full English but also smoked haddock/kippers if you wish. I have no problem recommending."

"The sign at the front of Alexa House says "Arrive as guests, leave as friends". Well after our fourth stay it should perhaps say "Arrive as friends, leave as even closer friends". Sandra and David''s welcome is always warm and genuine. The accommodation is clean and well decorated and the breakfasts are superb. We are already looking forward to our visit next year."

Mikado

"What a great place. We stayed with fellow Jaguar enthusiasts and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. Room was extremely comfortable, breakfast cooked just as we like it and the hosts are lovely people. Have stayed there twice and would go again and again."

David

"Have visited this hotel/guest house 4 times. It is located approx. 5 minute walk from centre of town and 3 minutes from conference centre. Really friendly owners who are happy to advise on restaurants, attractions etc. Breakfast is wonderful better choice than most larger hotel, including haddock, kippers etc. Room nicely decorated. Could not fault it. Thoroughly recommend."

"We stayed at a weekend with our young baby, and couldn't have been made more welcome (unlike most of the hotels we had contacted prior to the Alexa). The room was large and the bed very comfortable. Facilities are excellent. The breakfast, either cooked, buffet or both, was perfect.
5 minutes walk from the centre and from the swimming pool. The Alexa will be number one on our list next time in Harrogate"

Jack

"I've just come back from a few days at Alexa House in Harrogate and can't say enough about how welcoming and accommodating the hosts are. The house itself is lovely, situated on a quiet street within walking distance of the city centre. The room I was given was not one they usually let, but as the town was over run with conference attendees they offered me a basement room and said I could move after the first night. The room suited me perfectly, it was very private, spotlessly clean, and quiet, so I was more than happy to stay in my little suite. I was totally happy with my stay at Alexa House and hope to return next year."

"Really nice B & B. Owners are very friendly. Just 5 or 10 mins stroll into town. Rooms very clean and well equipped with flat screen tv, mini's in bathroom, soft clean towels, comfortable beds. Would definitely recommend a stay there."

Amy

"I stayed at Alexa House recently while attending an Exhibition at the Conference Centre. At first I was somewhat dismayed to learn that I had been booked here as most of my colleagues were at a nearby large Hotel. However when I arrived I was shown to a very clean & spacious room by Sandra.
After meeting up with everyone later at the Exhibition I discovered that I had in fact come out best after all. I had a free car parking space, free wi-fi and owners willing to get up and cook me a full breakfast at 7.00 so that I could build our stand ready for what would be a long day"

Claire

Thank you to everyone who has stayed with us, we look forward to seeing you again.
